Ana Claudia Rodrigues

Coordinator of PPGFAP, Professor at UFSC

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, master and PhD in Biological Sciences (Botany) from the University of São Paulo and post-doctorate from CCMAR (Center for Marine Sciences) at the University of Algarve in Portugal. I am currently an associate professor IV at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, teaching undergraduate courses in Biological Sciences and Agronomy and accredited in the postgraduate course PPGFAP – UFSC, supervising master’s and doctorate degrees. I have experience in the area of ​​Botany, with an emphasis on Plant Anatomy, on the following topics: ecological anatomy, plant development, anatomy for taxonomy; using optical and electron microscopy techniques, mainly from plant groups: seagrasses, Cyperaceae and Orchidaceae. He took over the coordination of PPGFAP in May 2024.

Paulo Tamaso Mioto

Deputy Coordinator of PPGFAP, Professor at UFSC

He holds an undergraduate degree in Biology (2007), a master’s degree in Botany (2011) and a doctoral degree in Botany (2016) from the Universidade de São Paulo. During his doctoral studies, he worked with the modulation of crassulacean acid metabolism in bromeliad species. He became a professor at UFSC in 2017. He is currently investigating the role of ectomycorrhizal fungi on the physiology of native restinga plants, focusing on a plant species with high potential for the recovery of degraded areas. He assumed the position of Deputy Coordinator of PPGFAP in May 2022.
